Another School Year for Council starts Sept. 13!

Parents/guardians are invited to the first School Council meeting on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the JFSS Library. You will have the chance to learn from Principal Mary Nanavati, meet new school administrators, choose your Council Executive, and hear from student leaders. Science Teacher Tracy Zamora, who heads the Specialist High Skills Major program in Health and Wellness, will outline how students wishing to pursue healthcare-related careers can benefit from the enriched experiences provided by the program. Kerry Somerset, Head of Special Education, will speak about accommodations at John Fraser SS to ensure each student’s success.

All Parents/Guardians of John Fraser SS students are encouraged to attend.

Step into Fall Gardening

Don’t forget our semi-annual gardening event at John Fraser SS.

On Sat., Sept. 29, meet your School Council Executive, Principal Nanavati and about 60 JFSS Students eager to beautify school grounds and plant annual and perennial flowers.  Gardening begins at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 11:30 a.m.  Bring your green thumb, shovels, trowels, gardening gloves and any other tools you can spare to assist students to earn volunteer credits and learn new skills. The Screen Challenge: Youth, Social Media & Safety

Western University will present The Screen Challenge at Thomas Street MS on Wed., Nov. 28, 6:30 p.m. it’s a free presentation open to all parents/guardians in the Erin Mills area, and organized by Erin Mills Connects of which JFSS Council and school are participants.
